This event is not a lecture – it’s an experience which gives a chance to learn through action and gain confidence in handling difficult conversations. Participation in mediation role play is encouraged, but entirely voluntary – you can choose to take the role of the mediator or the parties in disagreement, or simply observe and gain insights from the process. 🌱 Benefits: Across the session, you will get: First-hand experience of how mediation works in practice. Insights into why mediation achieves high agreement rates. Take away ideas for improving dialogue in workplaces, partnerships, and communities. Gain fresh perspectives on how to strengthen relationships and resolve challenges constructively. 💡 Tips from Hanna: 10-minute check-in Ask your partner, friend or colleague one open question — “What’s one thing that would make your week easier?” Listen without interrupting, then reflect back what you heard. You have taken step one on the pathway: story → interests → options → agreement. Listening helps to meet needs of other people to be heard and understood. It seems obvious, but we need it every day. Being busy with our work and life, we just overlook simple things that help make a connection. Asking open questions helps: Surfaces friction early before it becomes conflict (connecting with people, making it easier to start an important conversation). Builds psychological safety and trust (knowing each other and finding common ground increases the chances of reaching an agreement). Creates opportunities to enhance your skills in reaching agreements for future masterclasses. ❓ About Speakers Hanna Dushkova Hanna is a lawyer from Odesa and an accredited mediator (Deutsche Anwalt Academy, 2018), now a registered mediator in Scotland and serving on the Board of Scottish Mediation.
