The Origin of Hidden Talents
Bring Together Ltd began in September 2022 as the Ukrainians Together initiative, created to support displaced Ukrainians in Dundee through integration, community connection, and improved wellbeing.
During winter 2022/2023, Vitalii Diakov and Hanna Dushkova delivered the Hidden Talents project in partnership with Dundee social enterprise The Circle. The project supported 30 Ukrainians in their transition to a new community through educational workshops and volunteering.
Since then, the project has grown through local partnerships, community collaboration, and a shared commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces for people rebuilding their lives in Scotland.
Hidden Talents 2.0
The Hidden Talents 2.0 programme was developed in response to needs identified within the Ukrainian community. Many displaced individuals and families were facing language and cultural barriers, social isolation, and the ongoing emotional impact of war and displacement.
Today, Hidden Talents 2.0 aims to extend that support to more Ukrainians across Tayside. The programme focuses on overcoming isolation, improving soft skills, supporting wellbeing, and helping people recognise their strengths and potential.
SupportingIntegration Through Confidence, Connection and Opportunity
Through workshops, peer support, and community activities, Hidden Talents helps participants develop self-awareness, communication skills, emotional resilience, and confidence. The programme also supports pathways into volunteering, employability, and wider community participation.
The programme includes:
- workshops on emotional awareness, resilience, communication, and problem-solving
- guest speakers from local communities and businesses
- opportunities to develop employability and transferable skills
- volunteering pathways with local organisations
- activities that encourage cultural exchange and connection
Pathways to Volunteering and Employment
The programme helps participants build confidence, develop transferable skills, and explore pathways into volunteering and future employment.
92% participants reported better confidence, stronger communication skills, and successful outcomes of their volunteering roles and job interviews.
